  Took our car in for its first service (7000 miles) and received awful customer service. First of all, we were told that the fuel filter was leaking oil- fair enough, they replaced this under warranty and the rest of the service was completed just fine. Received a phone call at 5pm to say that the car was staying overnight as when they were returning the car, the service light reappeared, they put it on the ramp to find that the disc brakes and pads were corroded! At 7000 miles on a car that's 6 months old I find this hard to believe, especially since it was only picked up the second time it was on the ramp! Called to say that we needed a courtesy car, only to be told that they had none and we would have to just wait until the car was done. This wasn't an option for us as we needed a second car due to commitments. Told that they had miraculously found one but they didn't have a driver to drop it off, we would have to go get it! Again, not an option and then, miraculously the had a driver available...Unbelievable. Called back the next day to get an update and was told that when testing the car, the alternator belt snapped! Again, with the age of the car, I find this hard to believe and when questioned how this happened, they reverted to the old garage trick "im not sure, its nothing to do with me, the person you need to speak to isn't here".. Ok, where is he?...He's left for the day! Of course he has! We were delighted to receive an awful courtesy car, abolishing customer service and no actual reasons why this work was done and without discussion/authorisation to place the parts in the first place. The only upside is that the work was done under warranty but why cause us such aggravation over it. A simple service turned into a 4-day hell. I cannot stress enough that you avoid this dealer. Not only are their service staff useless but also their sales team is awful.

  I went in to speak to someone about purchasing a car a couple of months ago. I told the chap exactly what I was looking for. He showed me what cars were available and offered a finance option without asking how I intended to purchase the vehicle. Ok, fair enough? When I asked about offers on any cars available immediately or pre registered for discount I was told "Land rover are a quality product, I'm afraid we don't negotiate on price" I pushed him a bit more and he wasn't going anywhere with it. Surely you don't expect to sell every car at list price? I felt as thought he didn't give me any credibility as a serious buyer.. I know they will have a lot of time wasters and window shoppers walking in but I wasn't one and I felt alienated. I have since purchased a car from another dealership at the other side of the country who were prepared to negotiate and treat me as a serious customer. Worth looking in to the type of staff you're employing and how they're trained to deal with customers. This might be slightly unfair review based on my experience with one member of staff but I would want to know about this if I was running the place.
